NEW DESIGNS
New designs continue to push us along the path of exploration that Tom Moser, along with his wife Mary and their four young sons, embarked upon more than 35 years ago. As proof that the apple does not fall far from the tree, Tom's youngest son David Moser has become an accomplished and renowned designer in his own right and continues to take us along the path.

1. PASADENA DINING CHAIR
A modern, geometric hourglass defines the telltale shape of the Pasadena Dining Chair, continuing the action set in motion by the Dining Table.

Only one flat plane exists on each chair, where the back and the seat joint are reinforced. Otherwise, they seem more carved than assembled. Their shapely legs are faceted and splayed to provide stability without bulk. The seats are wide and as comfortable as any solid wood dining chair could be without upholstery. The slender back of the Side Chair scrolls up from this strong foundation, using the least amount of material needed to comfortably support the sitter.

The Arm Chair has a central back splat to support its broader profile, and the Side Chair is available with or without a similar back.

As a whole, the Pasadena Dining Chairs enhance the space they inhabit, without overpowering it.

2. PASADENA DINING TABLE
The Pasadena Dining Table encompasses the best of high-craft and new-tech skills: simple to look at and touch, yet extremely
complex to build, requiring hours of hand carving to complete.

The broad grain-matched cherry tabletop rests lightly on four carved legs, as spare a silhouette as can be—light and curvaceous yet sturdy. Upon closer inspection, the laborious handwork can be observed in the contrasting cap joints that are circular (not square) and lie flush to the surface. A sculptural “poured” edge draws the eye and the hand down the sides of the table, then down the legs in a kind of ebb and flow reminiscent of the movement of the sea—the tide harnessed in wood.

3. PASADENA HALL TABLE
A narrower, versatile version of the new Pasadena Dining Table, this curvaceous piece is suitable for use as a hall table, writing desk, vanity, or side table. Using the same meticulous handwork to create the Pasadena design’s hallmark “poured” edges and serpentine legs, the Side Table offers the same rich sensory experience on a smaller scale.

4. WING CLUB CHAIR & OTTOMAN
In 2007 we introduced this slightly more relaxed iteration of the upstanding Wing Chair. This ensemble is built to nestle the sitter in the lap of luxury. Taking cues from some of our other designs, we created a two-piece lounge chair in which the chair and ottoman nest together—though they can stand alone if need be.

This design slips down in the back to encourage a relaxed sprawl yet still maintains much of the Wing Chair’s original curvaceous Queen Anne ancestry. The chair has a slimmer profile with lower arms, which makes it easier to group several together for intimate chats—the essence of a true club chair.

5. VITA DINING TABLE
This dining table, introdcued in 2007, defines minimalist design with its top cantilevering over a vaulted base. The simple use of geometric form melds flat planes and sculpted air, proving again how hard it is to build simply enough to be good. An eight-foot-long cherry veneer tabletop sits atop a bent laminated base. Veneer was chosen for the top because it literally “floats” above the base and solid wood, with its constant expansion and contraction, just wouldn’t do for this type of application. Rack-and-pinion glides provide reciprocating movement of the top, revealing a hidden scissor-like leaf that stows effortlessly away within the table itself, making this one of our most flexible dining pieces.

6. VITA DINING CHAIR
Introduced in 2007 and in keeping with the lean, bold profile of the Vita Collection, David Moser' Vita Dining Chair found inspiration in Frank Lloyd Wright’s theory of creating “rooms within rooms” with furniture. The height and mass of the chair’s back works harmoniously with the lines of the table, delineating a specific area without competing visually with the table. The total effect is strong, balanced and welcoming without too much bulk. The weight of the sitter is cantilevered through Vita’s hallmark suspension design. The chair looks exceedingly uncomplicated but is quite difficult to execute well. Implicit knowledge of the human form at rest and the physics of wood is necessary or the chair would topple with the slightest shift forward. Seating is available in a variety of premium fabrics and hand-stitched leather.

7. EDO ROCKER
Rocking chairs speak to us of comfort and relaxation, and in this day and age there’s no doubt we all could use more of that. So it’s little wonder that when David Moser, who recently became a father for the first time, thought about expanding the Edo collection, he began by experimenting with a rocker.

The result is our new Edo Rocking Chair—an entirely authentic, contemporary interpretation of the classic wooden rocking chair—designed to fit in most any living environment.

8. EDO CANTILEVER SIDE TABLE
This accommodating little table came about simultaneously with our new Edo Rocking Chair. All the hallmarks of Edo are captured in an exquisite package: solid cherry construction, cantilevered suspension, and a reverse-tapered base.

The table stands 20", just the right height to comfortably store items within arm’s reach while sitting in any of our Edo living pieces. Used either as an accent piece or alone, this table will show its quality and character, aging gracefully with years of
steady use.

9. ARIA STOOL
The allure and sophistication of our Aria seating is reinvented with the introduction of the Aria stool. Gently arced legs are set flush with the seat rail to provide a steady base for an artful stool that is surprisingly substantive. A tight footprint will allow you to pull several close together, and a foot rail allows sitters to rest comfortably in a supportive posture.
